Kyiv Global Drupal Training Days 2017 Report

A significant event in Kyiv has come to an end—Global Drupal Training Days Kyiv 2017.

My personal reflection: I am shocked by the level of organization and the number of participants.

I had the honor of speaking at the opening, sharing some history about our local and global Drupal communities. It was filmed, so I hope to post the video as soon as the organizers put everything together.

The number of participants visually reached nearly 100, while registrations exceeded 160. This indicates not just a viable format, but one that sparks even more interest than the Drupal Cafes in Kyiv. In my opinion, this is a very important fact for our community to take into account.

I really enjoyed the "hallway tracks"—the informal conversations that were even less formal than the reports and training sessions themselves. I noticed a great deal of interest in how to enter the community, how to gain initial experience, and what needs to be done to grow professionally and land a job.

I believe our Drupal Cafes should be expanded specifically by involving students. Personally, I am interested in holding Drupal Training Days more frequently in Kyiv—I see this as having a positive impact on the development of our community as a whole.

It was clear from the event that a lecture-only format doesn't always leave room for questions. Therefore, in the future, it might be worth holding a round table moderated by the lecturers. Having a round table immediately after a block of lectures would allow for asking questions and discussing nuances in a less formal setting.

I would like to thank:

• Andriy Yun and Liuba for such a great event. The organization was impressive in its quality and attention to detail.

• The Bilka space for hosting and technical support.

• All the participants who didn't mind spending their Saturday coming out and taking part.

• The lecturers, for creating slides in Ukrainian and using the Drupal interface with Ukrainian localization.

Закінчилась визначна подія в Києві - Global Drupal Training Days Київ 2017.

Моя особиста рефлекція - я шокований рівнем організації та кількістю учасників.

Я мав честь виступати на відкритті, з деякою історією про нашу та глобальну спільноту Друпал. Знімалось відео, тому маю надію на те, що викладу його, як тільки організатори зберуть все докупи.

Кількість учасників дотягнула візуально до 100, кількість реєстрацій була більше 160, що свідчить не просто про життєздатний формат, а про формат, який викликає більший інтерес, ніж ті ж самі Друпал Кафе в Києві. І це, як на мене - дуже важливий факт, який варто прийняти до уваги нашій спільноті.

Дуже мені сподобались кулуарні розмови, які були менш формальні, ніж самі доповіді і тренінги. Я помітив великий інтерес до того, як входити в спільноту, яким чином отримати перший досвід і що потрібно зробити, щоб вирости професійно і отримати роботу.

Думаю, що наші Друпал Кафе потрібно розширяти саме за рахунок студентів. Я особисто зацікавлений в проведенні Навчальних днів Друпал частіше на теренах Києва - бачу в цьому позитивний вплив на розвиток нашої спільноти взагалі.

По події було видно, що лекційний формат не дозволяє задавати запитання, тому мабуть в майбутньому варто проводити круглий стіл, ведучими якого є лектори. Одразу після блоку лекцій наявність круглого стола дозволить в менш формальному форматі задати запитання та обговорити нюанси лекцій.

• Андрію Юну і Любі за таку класну подію. Організація вражає якістю і всепродуманістю
• Простору Білка за хостинг і технічне забезпечення
• Всім учасникам, які не пошкодували суботи для того, щоб прийти і прийняти участь
• Лекторам, за створення слайдів Українською із інтерфейсом Друпал із Українською локалізацією.
