DrupalCamp Kyiv 2016: How We Spent It

On June 4-5, the 9th DrupalCamp Kyiv took place. The conference became a true meeting point for the Drupal community, a platform for the further development of Drupal professionals, and provided all participants with an interesting and productive weekend.

Looking back, we achieved a breakthrough this year and, in some ways, a record among Ukrainian conferences, based on the following metrics:

• The number of participants exceeded 300; to be precise, 312 participants attended the conference, plus two young girls :)

• 4 parallel tracks of sessions were held;

• 32 presentations in total;

• Our code sprint gathered about 50 participants (codesprint resultscode sprint results).

On the first day, June 4th, we had a packed program of sessions on current topics from the world of Drupal. An exact reflection of our program can be seen at [this link]. We are posting presentations and media materials from the talks on individual presentation pages on our website.

On the second day, we held a small introductory lecture on the principles of working on drupal.org, after which we launched #CodeSprintUA. Since many participants on the second day were discovering the open-source contribution format for the first time, we had a wonderful opportunity to witness the first-ever patches in Drupal modules, which were reviewed and committed to applause on the big screen.

This year's Camp managed to be atmospheric, useful, and positive. An incredibly significant component of our event is the people:

• Sponsors, without whom all of this would have been impossible.

• Participants, who came from various cities in Ukraine and other countries.

• Speakers, who took a very responsible approach to preparing their presentations and shared their knowledge and experience.

As you know, we practice openness, so we are happy to share our financial report:

Total funds collected: 389,832 UAH, of which:

• Ticket sales: 92,759 UAH

• Sponsorship funds: 294,383 UAH

346,792.98 UAH was spent on the event, including:

The balance of 43,040 UAH was and continues to be used for Drupal Cafe Kyiv.

4-5 червня відбувся 9й DrupalCamp Kyiv. Конференція стала справжнім місцем зустрічі Drupal спільноти, платформою для подальшого розвитку професіоналів в Drupal і забезпечила всім учасникам цікаві та продуктивні вихідні.

Оглядаючись назад, ми досягли цього року прориву і в певній мірі рекорду серед українських конференцій, опираючись на показники:

• кількість учасників перевищила 300, якщо бути точними то на Конференції побувало 312 учасників і двоє дітей-дівчат:)

• проведено 4 потоки доповідей;

• загалом 32 презентації;

• наш кодспринт зібрав близько 50 учасників (підсумки код-спринта).

В перший день, 4го червня, ми мали насичену програму доповідей на актуальні теми зі світу Drupal. Точне відображення нашої програми можна побачити за посиланням. Презентації та медіаматеріали з виступів ми розміщуємо на окремих сторінках презентацій на нашому сайті.

В другий день ми провели невелику ознайомчу лекцію щодо принципів роботи на drupal.org після якої запустили #CodeSprintUA. Оскільки серед учасників 2го дня Конференції було багато людей, які вперше відкривали для себе формат роботи з відкритим кодом, ми мали чудову нагоду поспостерігати перші в житті латки в модулі Drupal та проводили їх перевірку та прийняття під оплески на великому екрані.

Цьогорічний Кемп вдалося зробити атмосферним, корисним і позитивним. Неймовірно значуща складова нашої події - це люди:

• спонсори, без яких все це було б неможливим.

• учасники, які приїхали із різних міст України та інших країн;

• спікери, які дуже відповідально підійшли до підготовки своїх презентацій та поділилися своїми знаннями і досвідом.
